Graduate Employment in the Latrobe Valley (GELV)
By Mary Griffiths, Pam Reynolds and Susan Yell
This
research project was carried out in 2001 by Mary Griffiths, Pam
Reynolds and Susan Yell of the School of Humanities, Communications
and Social Sciences, Monash University, with funding from the Monash
Regional Australia Project. GELV researched Latrobe Valley employers'
attitudes to and perceptions of graduates, the skills regarded as
essential and desirable in graduates, and graduate employment practices.
A conference paper on the research by Mary Griffiths and Susan Yell,
entitled Talking to and for the region: A case study of "national"
and "regional" research, was presented at the InsideOut
Conference on university/community engagement, at the University
of Queensland's Ipswich Campus in July 2001.
