Corroboree
Between February 4 and March 4 2008, the Egyptian Museum, Cairo held a special exhibition titled 'Corroboree'. The exhibition commemorated 25 years of co-operation between Egyptians and Australians in the field of Egyptology and highlighted the valuable contributions which Macquarie University and Monash University have both made over this time. A conference was also held at the Supreme Council of Antiquities headquarters in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition and guests were treated to short presentations delivered by the leading excavators.
Some of the most impressive artefacts found during excavations carried out by teams of archaeologists from both universities were put on display, accompanied by much information on the history of the activities undertaken at the archaeological sites where the teams have been involved.
A catalogue and a review of the exhibition are provided for further reading in the following links. The documents are provided here courtesy of the Australian Centre for Egyptology, Macquarie University.
