Web Policy Statement
University Policies & State/Federal Legislation
Content publication and web development on the Arts Faculty's web site (www.arts.monash.edu.au) and associated web addresses, must be carried out in compliance with all relevant university policies and guidelines and applicable state and federal legislation. The number of pertinent statutes is too extensive to list here and not all are relevant to every content creation & web development role in the faculty. It is however, worth noting that university policy states that " All staff have a responsibility to ensure that their activities on behalf of the University, and those of their colleagues, comply with all applicable laws."
The following key areas of policy/legislation should be considered when creating content or developing for the web.
- Acceptable Use
- Copyright/Intellectual Property
- Equity & Diversity (Accessibility/Disability Discrimination)
- Liable
- Privacy/Confidentiality
- Technical Requirements and Service Availability
- Visual Identity (Web Style Guide)
The best starting points to find details of relevant directives are the Web Style Guide and the University's Policy bank. These and a few other relevant documents are listed below.

Arts Faculty Policy
The Arts Faculty's web policy is currently under review. While new policy is formed, the current policy document should be considered valid in the areas where it is aligned with the current operational environment. Copies of the policy can be obtained by contacting the arts webmaster.
