Biography
Dr RoseAnne Misajon is currently the Undergraduate Coordinator for Behavioural Studies, Sociology, and Gender Studies.
She worked for a few years as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Eye Research Australia and Key Centre for Women’s Health before joining the School of Political and Social Inquiry as a Lecturer in Behavioural Studies in 2007.
RoseAnne has been a registered Psychologist with the Psychologist Registration Board of Victoria for several years. She has also worked as a volunteer (2002-current) to co-produce a national weekly television program for community television (www.pinoytv.com ), which received the Australian Antennas Award in the Outstanding Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Program category in 2010.
Teaching
RoseAnne current teaches:
ATS2723: Social Research Methods: This unit provides an introduction to social research methods, including conceptual and ethical considerations, various qualitative and quantitative research strategies and data gathering techniques.
ATS1262: Introduction to Social Behaviour: The unit introduces students to the s tudy of behaviour in its social contexts. Key understandings of the social influences on behaviour throughout the lifespan are situated in a study of the individual as a social being who is involved a variety of relationships and settings.
Research Interests
RoseAnne’s research includes areas such as the wellbeing of people with disability and chronic illness, the psychosocial aspects of quality of life and mental health, particularly in different cultural settings, and the development of quality of life measures. RoseAnne uses both quantitative and qualitative methods in her research.
