Graduate Scholarships
Scholarships are available to suitably qualified candidates for research higher degrees (PhD and Masters by research). The annual scholarship round closes in October each year. From time to time a mid-year scholarship round may be held and applicants should contact the Director to establish whether a mid-year round is scheduled for the current year. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and successful applicants are normally required to hold a first class honours degree or its equivalent (e.g. coursework Masters with a significant thesis component graded at high distinction). Both Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) and Monash Graduate Scholarships (MGS) are awarded. Candidates, however, need only submit a single application to cover both schemes. It should be noted that these schemes are highly competitive. Those intending to apply for a scholarship to pursue a research higher degree in Comparative Literature, Cultural Studies or Critical Theory are advised to contact the Director of the Centre prior to completing their application form. Applications that are incomplete cannot be processed. Forms and further information on scholarships can be obtained from the Research Training and Support Branch.
What if I'm applying from overseas?
Overseas applicants who wish to apply for a scholarship should first consult the information for International Students. Again, those intending to apply for a scholarship to pursue a research higher degree in the Centre are advised to contact the Director prior to completing their application forms. Forms and further information on scholarships can be obtained from the Research Training and Support Branch and Monash International.
Are there other schemes?
