The conference reception will be held at the State Library of Victoria Conference Centre and Theatrette commencing at 6pm. Entry is from Entrance 3 off Latrobe Street. The reception will be followed by the 2009 Foxcroft lecture ‘Carnegie Down Under: a century of the Dunedin Public Library’ to be given by Mary Ronnie.

Mary Ronnie’s involvement with Dunedin Public Library began in the 1930s. She was City Librarian from 1968 to 1976, and has also held the positions of National Librarian of New Zealand, Auckland City Librarian and Head of the Graduate Department of Librarianship, Archives and Records at Monash University, Melbourne. Mary Ronnie is retired and lives in Dunedin.
Friday 26 June
Conference begins at Swinburne University – Prahran Campus, 144 High Street Prahran 3181. The conference venue is Room 309 in Building PA, the Swinburne School of Art and Design. Registration is from 9am to 9.30am.

The conference dinner will be held at Mechanix Restaurant, adjacent to the conference venue, pre-dinner drinks commence at 7pm for dinner at 7.30pm.

The conference programme continues, commencing at 9.40am and concluding at 4.50pm.

Parking
Parking in the vicinity is limited.
Public Transport
Trains run from the city to Prahran station (10 minutes walk from the university), every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on weekends. Tram route 6 from the city runs every 10-15 minutes and stops in front of the conference venue. See http://www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au/ for timetables.
