General Information

The Classical studies program is designed to enable students to study the civilizations, cultures and languages of Ancient Greece and Rome. Students can take a first-year sequence in the civilization and culture of Ancient Greece, or in Latin (at Beginners or Intermediate (post-VCE) level), or in Ancient Greek (at Beginners or Intermediate (post-VCE) level). This allows students to go on to complete a minor sequence in Classical studies specialising in civilization and culture, Latin or Ancient Greek, or a major sequence in Classical studies by combining at least two of these areas of study.

NB: Where insufficient demand for one of the three disciplines occurs, the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics reserves the right to require students to complete a Minor or Major in Classical Studies by completing units other than those from the discipline concerned.
