Graduate Research and Research Degrees
Monash University warmly welcomes applications from students interested in pursuing research in Communications at the MA or PhD level. Enrolments in postgraduate research degrees can be made at any campus, depending on the particular staff members likely to be involved in supervision or the availability of specific resources. While the Clayton campus has the largest paper based library holdings of any of the campuses, other campuses have strong links with local research groups - in New Media and Multimedia in the case of Berwick, for example.
For details of applications procedures look at the Faculty of Arts Graduate Research site or individual campus graduate research pages.
Normally if you are interested in doing an MA by research or a PhD then you should talk to members of academic staff about your proposed area of research in advance of making an application. Please look at the Monash Communications Research Network (MCRN) site for an indication of areas of research on which Monash staff are particularly focussed.
Since much of the most interesting work in the field of Communications is interdisciplnary, you will find that staff from many different backgrounds and campuses contribute to the MCRN. For details of Communications and Media Studies staff and their areas of research on all campuses please go to the Communications staff page.
