Double Degree students
Monash Arts offers a range of double degree programs, some from within our own faculty, and a number with other faculties.
Within a double degree you will study units and disciplines from at least two faculties: each 'side' of your double degree is called a component.
Details of your course structure for both components will be listed under the course information of the managing faculty.
Managing faculties and who to contact for help
Because you have two components in a double degree this can sometimes make it a bit difficult to work out who to go to if you need help or assistance with an inquiry or problem.
Your double degree will be managed by one of the two faculties that teach it - to find out who manages your double degree you should check the course information in the undergraduate handbook - the managing faculty is listed in the preamble. e.g.:
Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Visual Art
Course code: 3779 + Course abbreviation: BA/BVA + Total credit points required: 192 + 4 years full-time, 8 years part-time + Managing faculty: Arts
However, as a general rule, if your question relates to your arts studies then start your inquiry with Arts - if it relates to the other component of your degree then start with the other faculty.
Deadlines
Because you belong to two faculties you will need to check both sets of deadlines to ensure you do not miss important cut-off dates like re-enrolment, summer semester, etc. Information on what deadline is the absolute cut-off for a double degree student will be highlighted in any correspondence you receive from your managing faculty or published on the web.
Re-enrolment
To re-enrol for a double degree you must use the WES to enrol in the units for both components during the re-enrolment period of the managing faculty for the course.
Side-by-Side BA and LLB Students
If you are enrolled in the BA and the LLB in a side-by-side arrangement (i.e. a full-fee place in Law and a CSP in Arts) then you need to make sure you enrol in your Arts units under the 0002 course code by the Arts re-enrolment deadline. Your Law units should be enrolled in under your Law course code.
