Course Transfer
If you intend to apply for a course transfer, you should note that summer semester results are not released until the first week of semester one next year. Students cannot transfer courses while a mark is outstanding for a unit. Typically, if your application is approved you will have to wait until summer semester results are released before you can transfer courses. You should discuss any concerns you might have about your course transfer application with the faculty that manages the transfer course of choice. Summer semester results cannot be released prior to the official publication of summer semester results.
Summer Semester Dates
Summer semester is different to semesters one and two. Each unit has different enrolment, teaching and census dates. Make sure you do not miss the deadline to enrol in or discontinue a unit. We recommend you discuss your expected attendance requirements when you seek approval for the unit from the Unit Co-ordinator or School. Summer date information is available for each unit on the summer units’ page.
Pre-requisites
It is your responsibility to check you meet unit pre-requisites. Please refer to the unit description in the Monash University handbook for individual unit pre-requisites.
If you are awaiting results for a unit that is a pre-requisite for a summer unit, you can enrol in the summer semester unit. Results for Semester 2, 2009 will be released on 4 December 2009. If you receive a fail for the pre-requisite unit, your summer enrolment will be invalidated and you will be unenrolled from the unit.
Re-enrolment
Enrolling in a summer semester unit does not count as re-enrolling for 2010. If you fail to re-enrol between Monday 12 October 2009 and Monday 23 November 2009, you will have to pay the $250 late re-enrolment fee. For more information on re-enrolling, please visit our re-enrolment website.
Timetable and Allocate+
Attendance requirements vary for each unit. Most units are not listed in MUTTS or Allocate+. You can find more information about the unit’s requirements on our summer units’ page. For further information on any classes you need to attend contact the School or unit co-ordinator listed.
Unit cancellations
Every effort will be made to ensure that the units on offer will run. However, units may be cancelled up to one week prior to the commencement date if there is an insufficient number of students enrolled in the unit. Please visit the cancellation of units’ policy page for further information.
