Description


Students are required to complete 48 points of study comprising of a thesis and two coursework units.

The coursework units and the thesis topic are chosen in consultation with the Journalism honours coordinator.

Caulfield and Off Campus

Thesis

Students complete the following two units:

  • JRN4010 (A) Dissertation Thesis Part 1
  • JRN4010 (B) Dissertation Thesis Part 2

Coursework Units

Students complete the following two units:

  • JCS4001 Journalism studies research seminar
  • JRN4401 Advanced journalism project

Gippsland

Offered by the School of Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences

Thesis

Students complete the following two units:

  • HUM4000(A) Honours Dissertation A
  • HUM4000(B) Honours Dissertation B

Coursework Units

Students complete the following two units:

  • HUM4002 Selected topics in theory and practice
  • ATS4xxx – new journalism unit proposed to be offered in 2011 *
