ECPS Graduate Scholarship
Scholarship Period: 3 years. Annual Stipend: $19,616 (tax exempt)
The School of English, Communications and Performance Studies invites applications for a full-time PhD scholarship to undertake research in the Communications and Media Studies program.
Research in the Communications and Media Studies Program is focused on a number of key areas including contemporary communication technology and digital media, the social and cultural aspects of communication, and the functioning of creative, cultural and media industries. There is also strong interest in media and communication theory and in socio-cultural theory. Some of the areas of research specialisation in the program include publishing studies, sports media, digital cultures, and audience and reception studies. Project proposals in these and other areas are welcome.
Applicants will possess a background in a relevant discipline of the humanities and social sciences. They are required to have an Honours 1 or High 2A (or equivalent) undergraduate degree, or a Masters by Research degree. They are also required to submit a detailed project proposal with their application.
The scholarship must be taken up by 1 March of the start year. A limited number of scholarships are available.
