ALTC Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning
The Faculty of Arts may submit up to 2 academic nominees for the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Citations. The Dean and Associate Dean (Education) make their selection from the pool of Dean's Teaching Award recipients, as well as winners of the Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Excellence Award.
The selection criteria are:
- Approaches to teaching and (to) learning support that influence, motivate and inspire students to learn;
- Development of curricula, resources and services that reflect a command of the field;
- Approaches to assessment, feedback and learning support that foster independent learning;
- Respect and support for the development of students as individuals;
- Scholarly activities and service innovations that have influenced and enhanced learning and teaching
Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning recognise and reward the diverse contributions that individuals and teams make to the quality of student learning. The 'ALTC Citations' are granted to people who have made a significant contribution to the quality of student learning in a specific area of responsibility over a sustained period. People who are awarded ALTC Citations are widely recognised for their achievements within the nominating institution and have received strong institutional endorsement. 210 citations ($10,000 each) are available annually across Australia.
