English Undergraduate Prizes
The English Section offers the following annual prizes: each in the form of book vouchers.
David Bradley Prize
- Level: First-year level students
- Description: The prize for the top student in First Year will be awarded to the student attaining the highest combined score of one First and one Second Semester ENH unit, the units to be taken in the one calendar year. The prize will be awarded on the recommendation of the First Year Co-ordinator in consultation with the Prize Supervisor.
Geoffrey Hiller Prize for Renaissance Literature
- Level: Second and Third-year level students
- Description: The prize for Renaissance Literature will be awarded to the student with the best final result in any second or third year unit which includes a substantial study of Renaissance Literature. The prize will be awarded on the recommendation of the Second/Third Year Co-ordinator in consultation with the Prize Supervisor.
Brenda Niall Prize for Australian Literature
- Level: Second and Third-year level students
- Description: The prize for Australian Literature will be awarded to the student with the best final result in any second or third year unit which includes a substantial study of Australian Literature. The Prize will be awarded on the recommendation of the Second/Third Year Co-ordinator in consultation with the Prize Supervisor.
W.A.G. Scott Prize
- Level: Second-year level students
- Description: The prize for the top student in Second Year will be awarded to a student completing the second part of a minor sequence (i.e. two ENH units) in the one year who achieves the highest aggregate score in any two units. The prize will be awarded on the recommendation of the Second Year Co-ordinator in consultation with the Prize Supervisor.
English Third Year Prize
- Level: Third-year level students
- Description: The prize for the top student in Third Year will be awarded to the student who achieves the highest aggregate mark based on his/her three ENH units taken at third-year level in the one year. The prize will be awarded on the recommendation of the Third Year Co-ordinator in consultation with the Prize Supervisor.
