Converting From MA to PHD
It is possible to upgrade from the masters by research degree to the PhD, provided you have performed satisfactorily in your masters program.
Normally you apply for a transfer after at least nine months in the masters by research, and not more than 36 months. You are expected to make an oral and written presentation to a panel of relevant academic staff. The panel then considers your case and recommends the conversion, or continuation in the masters.
