Arts pathway courses
Satisfy entry requirements
Monash Arts degrees are accessible by a range of entry pathways.
One option to meet university entry requirements is to complete a pathway course. Monash pathway courses provide the ideal transition between school and university.
There are currently two pathway way courses provided by the university that lead to an Arts degree and these are described below.
Diploma of Tertiary Studies
Campuses | Berwick, Gippsland
A transition to university after year 12, this pathway offers a university experience that includes additional support and study skills designed to provide a sound basis for success.
The diploma equips you with skills in essay writing, research, problem solving, critical thinking, project development and communication skills; and is the equivalent of first year at university.
Students that successfully complete the requirements of this course with a 60% average can apply for a place at Monash University.
Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP previously HECS) are available for this course.
Diploma of Arts
Campuses | Clayton
Monash College is a teaching facility within the university offering pathways to university study. It is a full fee paying facility based at the Clayton Campus.
The Diploma of Arts comprises of two parts. Both parts provide a pathway to university study for students that demonstrate academic achievement. Students can complete one or both parts of the diploma.
The first part of the diploma is the equivalent to Year 12. Applicants must have completed Year 11 or its equivalent for admission. The second part is the equivalent to first year at university. Applicants must have completed Year 12 or its equivalent (including part 1 of the diploma) for admission.
