Honours Thesis

A study into how musical rhythm can be used in conjunction with dramatic action and mise en scene to affect performance and the audience's perception of performance based on
the findings of my research performance project 'Ad Nauseam'.

Most memorable Monash experience so far

The production of 'Ad Nauseam' for my Honours year was my most memorable experience at Monash. It was an opportunity to put into practice all of the skills that I had been developing over the course of my performing arts degree.

Most challenging experience

The third year subject 'Independent Theatre Practice' was my most challenging experience. The requirement of the subject is that the student is involved in a theatre production
(as director/actor/designer etc.) that is not affiliated with the course to gain experience in creating theatre outside of university. Myself and a friend chose to write and direct a
musical and perform it in primary schools around Melbourne. The challenge of this project was that we were responsible for every aspect of the production as well as publicity,
and liaising with the schools.

Career aspirations

To continue research into the ways music can be used to affect theatre and utilizing this research to create and perform music theatre productions.
