Monash Unit in Liguria

GES3260/GYM4260 Cultural landscape, environment and sustainability in Italy
(10 day intensive taught 27th Nov- 6th Dec 2009)

Developed especially, but not exclusively for students of geography, environmental and sustainability, tourism and European studies. The unit provides students at both levels 3 and 4 with unique insight into integrated regional geography, cultural landscape and sustainability of the Cinque Terre, Liguria. Problems of integrating tourism and agricultural objectives while minimising negative environmental and cultural impacts are explored, along with possible solutions for regional sustainability.
