New Staff:

Tim Denham (Monash Research Fellow/Australian Postdoctoral Research Fellow). Tim is an archaeologist undertaking a multi-disciplinary
investigation of Pleistocene and Holocene plant exploitation practices in Papua New Guinea, with a view to understanding the early and independent emergence of agriculture on the island of New Guinea.

Neville Nicholls (Professorial Fellow) Neville's research involves nature, cause, and predictability of climate variations and change, especially in the Australian region; impacts of climate change and variability, especially on human health; changes and impact of climate

Bette O'Brien (Director, Regional and Urban Planning Program, Berwick) Bette's interests are in sustainable planning (economic, environmental,
social, cultural and spatial aspects), regional economic development, public policy, housing (economic, social, cultural and spatial considerations), cultural diversity, crime prevention, and qualitative research methods & ethics

INDUCTION

Wednesday 22nd March, 1-2pm in S119

We invite all HDR students and SGES staff to an induction session on Wednesday 22nd March in S119. This will be a great opportunity for research students and staff to get together, and for our new students to meet other people from the School. Some light refreshments will be available.
