Artic Transitions in the Land Atmosphere System (ATLAS)
COUNCIL
Site photos 2000
Three sites from 1999 (tundra/shrub/forest) and some additional new sites were chosen for study during the 2000 field season at Council represent a transition of vegetation types from Tundra to White Spruce Forest. These sites feature a transition in the dominance of plant functional types that will allow us to evaluate the importance of ecosystem structure and function to land surface-atmosphere interactions in transitional arctic systems.
