The wind rose plot shows the previous 24 hours data with longest lines representing the most frequent wind directions in the past 24 hours. Within each wind direction category (i.e. South) the wind is broken down into speed categories and again the length on the colours represents the relative frequency of those wind speeds (i.e mainly royal blue would suggest that most of the time the wind was between 10.8 and 13.9 m.s-1).

The following site was installed and maintained by Dr. Jason Beringer (School of Geography and Environmental Science, Monash University) as part of the Suominet GPS network. GPS data are collected in a cooperative agreement with the Land Information Group of Land Victoria, Department of Sustainability and Environment.

Project Overview
The site consists of a dual frequency GPS receiver and an array of meteorological instruments mounted together with a traditional trig beacon for use by land surveyors. The GPS signals will be analysed together with meteorological data to determine the precipitable water vapour content assisting in weather predication.

The site is located on the roof of the Menzies Building at 37°54'45.2537"S Long: 145°07'57.8844"E and at a height of 147.9m
Data
Data from this site has been collected at 5 minute intervals since August 2002. Rainfall data has been collected since August 2003. For access to data please email jason.beringer@arts.monash.edu.au
