Undergraduate prizes and scholarships
In 1998 the School instituted undergraduate prizes for 1st to Honours year levels to recognise the academic achievements of students in Geography.
At each level from 1st to 3rd years there are both a major prize and Certificates of Academic Excellence. At Honours level the J.S. Duncan Award is granted for the best thesis in that year.
The 3rd year Chris Maher Prize and the J.S. Duncan Award for the best Honours thesis are both named after former staff members of the School.
Students awarded in 1999 and 2000 were as follows.
