Historical Studies Policy Section 3.4.2 - Faculty rules on interchangeability

12 point units at 3rd year level
It was decided that 3rd year level subjects should be offered at 6 points unless a strong case can be made to offer the subject at 12 points. Where a subject is to be offered at 3rd and 4th year level, the points must be the same. Either an additional tutorial should be offered at 3rd year level to allow for the discrepancy in contact hours between 3rd and 4th year levels, or all students should have the 3rd year contact hours.

When a subject is listed as being taught at two levels, a qualitative distinction must be made in relation to the assessment required of each level, and this distinction must be clearly set out in the information distributed at the commencement of the subject.
