At 2nd and 3rd year there should be at least one piece of assessment which could reliably be regarded as being the student's own work. An in-house examination is an obvious example. A class test would be appropriate if invigilated, but in a large class it might be difficult to be certain of the identity of each student. The piece of authenticated assessment should be worth a minimum of 25% of total assessment.
