Personal History
Judy McNicoll graduated in history and completed further studies in Special Education and teaching English as a second language during her career as a secondary teacher. She completed the Monash Grad Dip Arts (Civil Ceremonies) in 2002 and subsequently gained registration as a Civil Marriage Celebrant. Her research interest is in the marking of rites of passage in Australian society, and her Ph.D. research project is an exploration of change in funeral practices in Australian society from 1960 to the present.
