What is Gippsland?

Gippsland is Victoria’s most resourceful region
Gippsland is that part of Victoria lying to the east of metropolitan Melbourne and Western Port extending to the NSW border. It is generally bounded by the coast in the south and the Great Dividing Range in the north. Gippsland is rich in energy and agricultural resources, but has a capacity for population growth when compared to other areas of the state. Many of Victoria’s most significant flora and fauna attractions are located in Gippsland.
