Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for the Honours Program

For admission into the Honours program, applicants must have completed all requirements at undergraduate degree level, and are normally required to have obtained Distinction grades of 70% or higher in the chosen discipline at the value of 24 points at second or third year level (18 of which must be at the third year level).

Entry to the program is subject to the recommendation of the relevant Section(s) and the final approval of the Coordinator of the Honours program.

Students with a 67% or higher average in the chosen discipline at the value of 24 points at second or third year level (18 of which must be at the third year level) may seek special permission to enter the Honours course. Applicants should submit a letter to the Honours coordinator and include a reference from at least one lecturer.

Students may undertake a combined (interdisciplinary) Honours degree with the approval of both disciplines. In this case the student must meet the entry requirements for both disciplines.
