Master of Communications

Mid-year entry available + 18 months full-time, 3 years part-time + On-campus (Caulfield) + Off-campus

The Master of Communications offers advanced study of global communications and media. The social, economic, aesthetic, strategic, public, technological and organizational dimensions of global communication are explored. The degree canvasses the nature of media, networks, publics, audiences, and flows. Students study research methods and communication theory. Students who achieve a distinction average in their Level 4 units have the option of undertaking a research dissertation at Level 5.

The Master of Communications is designed to meet the needs of professionals in communications and related sectors.

Entry Requirements

(a) A Bachelors degree with at least a credit average in the final year, or (b) a Bachelors pass degree with demonstrable professional experience (minimum 2 years) at management level (e.g. program coordinator, supervisor, team leader) in a relevant area#, or (c) completion of a Graduate Diploma with credit (or above) average.
Students with significant relevant experience but without a Bachelors degree may apply for entry into the Faculty Certificate of Communications. Upon successful completion with a credit average, they may apply for entry into the Graduate Diploma of Communications. On completion of the Graduate Diploma with a credit average, students may apply for entry to the Master of Communications.

Master of Communication, Graduate Diploma of Communications and Faculty Certificate in Communication

The program offers three postgraduate qualifications, with entry points into faculty certificate, graduate diploma and masters programs, and exit points at faculty/graduate certificate, graduate diploma and master's levels.

The entire Masters program encompasses a sequence of 72 points of full-time or part-time study on-campus or through off-campus flexible delivery incorporating print and on-line teaching and learning. The course is offered within Australia and internationally.
