Ms Alison Hart

Academic Support

Alison has worked in HUMCASS in various capacities since 1994 in a wide range of disciplines and areas including history politics, sociology, criminology, human rights, communications and media studies, as well as working on projects in crime prevention, e-democracy, flexible learning and social activism. In addition to her academic support role for Communications, she is currently the enhancement studies tutor for Media and Communications Studies and Project Officer for the Gippsland Apprenticeship Research Project.

Her Master's thesis completed in 1998, examined the problematic nature of United Nations peacekeeping and humanitarian intervention in the 1990s.

Research Interests / Publications

Global civil society and the internet, humanitarian intervention, the erosion of State sovereignty and mechanisms of global governance.
