Dr. Beth Edmondson

Beth Edmondson

Lecturer in History-Politics

Beth Edmondson has worked as a Lecturer at Monash University since 1990. She has active research interests across a range of areas including the scope of international law, especially as it relates to environmental treaties and regimes, the nature of state sovereignty and the possibilities for order within the international political system. She teaches International Relations and World Politics, Australian Politics and Policy Studies, and Gender Studies.

Research Interests / Publications

Beth's research interests include the emergence and maintenance of international environmental regimes, the transformation of states and international order and the role of international relations scholarship in contributing to international cooperation. Beth is also interested in pedagogy and the nature and processes of learning, including the impact of computer based learning/delivery and the importance of flexibility in distance education.

Current research is focused upon the importance of climate change and re-distributions in water resources as challenges for order in international relations.
