Dr Graham Jones joined HUMCASS in 2009 having previously taught Screen Studies in the School of Creative Arts at the University of Melbourne and Communication Studies at Victoria University.  In addition to his teaching on cinema and television, he has lectured in a wide range of areas including critical theory, media studies, visual aesthetics, gender studies, literary studies and creative writing.  He has also taught occasional seminars and courses for the Melbourne School of Continental Philosophy and been a past president of the Australasian Society for Continental Philosophy.

Research interests

Graham's research largely focusses on the work of the two poststructuralist philosophers Deleuze and Lyotard and follows two main lines of interest:

His other research interests include the film work of such directors as David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Terence Malick and Peter Greenaway, as well as the the study of graphic novels, of horror film, and of representations of combat (particularly the Vietnam War) in cinema, literature and comic books.
