Dr Simon Cooper

Lecturer in Communications and Writing
Simon has been a Lecturer in Mass Communications and Writing since 2000. He is a member of the Gippsland based Research Unit for Work and Communications Futures. He is an editor of Arena journal. His book on Critical Theories of Technology will be published by Routledge in 2002.

Research Interests / Publications
His current research Interests are
critical theory, psychoanalysis, politics, civics, film and cybercultures.
Simon is an editor of Arena journal and is a regular contributor
to Arena magazine. His book on critical theory and the philosophy
of technology will be published by Routledge in 2002.
In addition to these more general areas of research, Simon has
completed more specific research within the local region. In 1998
he completed a social impact study on the introduction of e-commerce
in the Latrobe region for the Latrobe Shire. He is part of the Research
Unit on Work and Communications Futures, based on the Gippsland campus
and he is currently a member of the HUMCASS
based Active Citizens/New technologies research team.
