Dr Van Doorn

George completed a PhD at Monash University Gippsland Campus, in the area of sensory integration, after completing an undergraduate degree in psychology, also at the Gippsland campus. He took up a full time lecturer position teaching in the Psychological Studies program in 2009. His primary teaching responsibilities are in Developmental and Forensic Psychology.

Research Interests / Publications

George has been an author of over 15 publications since 2005 in areas such as active and passive haptics (or touch), sensory integration, neuroscience, time and temperature perception, and evolution. George has established collaborative partnerships with the Department of Philosophy, the Monash Medical Centre, the Department of Physiology, the University of Toronto and the Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC).
