History-Politics

What is History-Politics at Monash?

This combined major provides students with an inter-disciplinary program of study in History and Politics. Subjects are designed to enable students to develop significant bodies of knowledge of the History and Politics of Europe, Australia and the United States and the relationship between major historic events and changed political structures in modern world politics. Students are provided with a systematic development of learning skills – including skills in reading, information retrieval, oral and written communications, and independent research techniques. This unique major provides a stimulating program of study which gives students high levels of academic competence in understanding processes of continuity and change in human society, the nature of the past and the politics of the modern world.
