Social and Community Welfare

What is Social and Community Welfare at Monash?

The Social and Community Welfare Section offers a range of educational programs that equip students for professional social welfare practice in the social and community services industry, and offers professional practitioners courses to enhance their knowledge, extend their expertise, and further their qualifications.

Drawing on relevant social welfare theory, practice-based research, and innovative work in the field, our courses are designed to consolidate knowledge and competencies required to perform the social welfare worker's role in counselling, case work, social advocacy, community development, service management, program planning, social policy formation and administration. Our Social and Community Welfare courses promote ethical professional practice, responsive service design, innovative program development, just social policy and quality community care.
