IntroductionEach year the Indonesian Program in conjunction with the INCULS (Indonesian Language and Culture Learning Service), Gadjah Mada University, offers an intensive in-country program in Indonesian Language and Culture. Gadjah Mada University (UGM) is one of Indonesia's most respected universities and is located in the Javanese heartland of Yogyakarta. The intensive program allows students to complete the equivalent of two semesters of Indonesian language study in about 5/6 weeks. The program for 2010 will start on the 2nd of January 2010 and finish in mid- February 2010. |

AssessmentAlthough the assessment criteria for the subjects studied in-country may slightly differ to the equivalent on-campus units, the overall objectives of the units are the same. |
Enrolment and Credit
Students who wish to join the program should enrol om INM2991 for Second year, INM3991 for Third year and INM4991 for Fourth year and Honours program, depending on the current level of studies at Monash. The table below shows which subject code you should enrol in. If you are still uncertain, please do not hesitate to discuss the matter with your coordinator.

Teaching Program
The teaching program at each level will comprise language classes and one-to-one tutorials (total 140 hours), workshops in batik, gamelan, dancing, puppet (total 20 hours), 2 field trips (total 12 hours), special lectures (total 3 hours), and school visits (optional).
Accommodation
For the first four days, the group stays together in a hotel organised by Monash University (the cost of this accommodation is included). Students are then refered to a number of locations within the general area of the campus and make their own choice with the help of the Program Coordinator.

Monash Financial AssistanceEach student will receive A$1000 financial assistance from Monash Abroad, provided they satisfy the following three principles:
