Every year, the ACJC hosts the Monash Wallenberg Oration which explores important themes in Holocaust and genocide scholarship. It is named in memory of Raoul Wallenberg, who risked his life to save Jews during the Holocaust.
The 2011 Monash Wallenberg Oration will be delivered by Father Patrick Desbois, a French Catholic Priest who has devoted his life to researching the Holocaust, fighting anti-semitism, and furthering the relations between Catholics and Jews.
Father Desbois is the Director of the French Conference of Bishops for relations with Judaism, Advisor to the Cardinal-Archbishop of Lyon, and Advisor to the Vatican on the Jewish Religion.
