Professor Chris Nash, Head of Monash Journalism

View text transcript of video

Students of Monash Journalism have opportunities to participate in a number of international programs.

One is the global collaborative initiative in environmental journalism that involves four Australian and four European universities, which is funded by Brussels and Canberra. Major chances exist through this program for students to study at Monash’s partner universities.

Students will also have opportunities to study in South East Asia in a program where Monash students will be able to do Monash courses taught by Monash staff but on campuses at a number of South East Asian universities. Students will enjoy an enormously positive and constructive experience through this program. They will come to understand what it’s like to work and study in another country that’s very relevant to Australia, and at the same time to build friendships and networks with future journalists in those countries.

The program is deeply collaborative. Monash also has links with Research Institutes and Centres for Investigative Journalism in the USA, including the Centre for Investigative Reporting in San Francisco and the Centre for Public Integrity in Washington. Students who come to Monash can be confident that they are studying in a program that is thoroughly well-grounded internationally.
