Teaching
From day one students begin to produce real journalism. The program covers the full range of production technologies—print, video, radio and online—and students are taught and expected to reach high professional standards. Staff also take a rigorous and critical approach to studying the media and its place in society. Students can expect to graduate with excellent academic and professional qualifications.
Monash Journalism is strongly linked into international collaborations with some of the world's leading journalism schools. In particular, Monash is part of a world-first consortium of European and Australian universities collaborating to teach environmental reporting. It's called the Global Environmental Journalism Initiative and students work online with their peers around Australia and Europe to produce stories with a local and global dimension. There are opportunities for financially-supported student exchanges with our partner universities.
