Subject: Re:워크숍 1: 이번 주의 주제 Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2000 13:58:56 -1000 (HST) From: Andrew Byon <abyon@hotmail.com> To: InJung.Cho@arts.monash.edu.au, tkfsl-l@arts.monash.edu.au CC: abyon@hawaii.edu This is A. Sangpil Byon from University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Thanks to Han-me software, I can read a message, written in Korean with only minor problems. However, it very difficult write message because don't have window for my PC. Consequently, if possible (when every participant does not mind), wonder would be O.K. me convey opinion English. I am certain that all of us agree upon an idea that CALL (computer assisted language learning) has emerged as the hottest issue among KFL /KSL educators. In my personal opinion, most college students in the US are familiar with internet & e-mail use (perhaps, so are Korean college students?). Consequently, their expectations and learning styles in their Korean language classrooms have changed accordingly. Good and competent teachers are those who are sensitive enough to adjust their teaching styles according to their students' preferences. Therefore, the use of technology & CALL (computer-assisted language learning) such as internet, web-site and e-mail is an inevitable matter for current KFL / KSL educators: not only (a) to take advantage of technology, but also (b) to adjust their teaching styles according to their students' expectation and preferences.
