Welcome to the 3rd Conference of the International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies (IATIS), which will be hosted by the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics at Monash University Caulfield Campus, Melbourne, Australia, from 8th to 10th July, 2009.
The Conference theme is Mediation and Conflict: Translation and Culture in a Global Context.
The Organising Committee has plans for an exciting academic and social program. The conference will be preceded on 7th July by workshops on literary translation (in collaboration with AALITRA, the Australian Association for Literary Translation) and on broadcasting in a multilingual and multiplatform digital environment (in collaboration with SBS, Australia's multicultural and multilingual public broadcaster).
