Grants and Scholarships for Honours Students
Publication grants
In 2009, there are two publication grants available to the value of $500.
If there are no applications received, the funds will go to making another travel and fieldwork grant, dependent on demand.
Eligibility
Students are eligible to apply for a publication grant if their supervisors and/or examiners advise them to re-work their Honours thesis into a publishable article. This puts students in a better standing in regards to postgraduate scholarship applications.

Travel and fieldwork grants
The School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics in 2009 is offering travel grants to assist students who wished to attend conferences in order to present a paper or poster on their current research. Travel grants are also available for students to undertake field trips, surveys, data collection or interviews; to learn new techniques; to pursue research in specialist archive collections; or to utilise specialist equipment not available at Monash.
Students undertaking Honours or Postgraduate Research Programs at Monash are strongly encouraged to present their research findings at national and international conferences. This allows them to expose their work to peer review and to develop networks that will be important in their subsequent research careers. This interaction with researchers of international repute enriches and broadens a student's research experience, while also stimulating collaborative research links between Monash and other tertiary and research institutions.
In 2009, there will be 4 grants available, each up to the value of $1000.
These grants for fieldwork and travel are not restricted to fund overseas travel and fieldwork but may equally be used for funding fieldwork and travel within Australia.
