SMI: The Scanlon-Monash Index of Social Cohesion

The vast majority of Australians have a high level of identification with their country, the fundamental prerequisite for any cohesive society. When asked concerning their level of satisfaction with life over the last year, 89% of respondents indicated that they were 'very happy' or 'happy'. But there has been consistent downward movement since 2007 in indicators of acceptance and rejection.
