My research project focuses on Australian Indigenous Hip Hop, therefore my main interest lies in the negotiation of an Aboriginal identity through music and Rap as a productive site of self-expression. My interests range from Australian Indigenous Studies to Linguistics, in particular Systemic Functional Grammar (Halliday, 1994), Appraisal Theory (Martin and White, 2005) and Critical Discourse Analysis (Fairclough, 2001), to Cultural Studies, Anthropology and Australian Indigenous Literature.

From January 2009 to July 2010 I was a PhD candidate at the University of Udine in Australian Indigenous Literature. During that time I was elected postgraduate representative for ASAL (the Association for the Study of Australian Literature) and I attended Conferences both In Australia and Europe.

I have presented at International conferences and published a review and few articles on Australian Indigenous Literature and Political Discourse (an analysis of Kevin Rudd's Apology).
