Piano/Keyboard Performance Program
Classical
The Monash Piano/Keyboard Performance Program provides a friendly, supportive and nurturing environment for piano students to develop a broad range of skills in both performance and pedagogy. Students are encouraged to develop their technical and artistic skills through practical and theoretical study. Students receive expert instruction from eminent staff and visiting artists through a variety of classes:
- individual lessons,
- performance workshops,
- masterclasses,
- ensemble and accompaniment programs,
- piano pedagogy.
Many performance opportunities are available to piano students, both internally via lunch-hour concerts, the Twlight Concert Series, Concerto competition, and various collaboration projects with school instrumental ensembles, and externally at both local, regional and international venues.
Recent projects have included international tours (Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea), performances with orchestras (Carnival of the Animals, Gershwin etc. at BMW Edge), CD recording projects, and piano ensemble performances.
A variety of prizes and awards are available to piano students.
