Biography

Elizabeth Scarlett was educated at Firbank and MLC Colleges. She graduated Bachelor of Music (Instrumental School) from Melbourne University (1957) and a Bachelor of Education (1970). She graduated from Trinity College, London in
Licentiate in Piano Performance (1987). From 1972-1997 she was a Lecturer in Music at Deakin University.

Elizabeth then undertook a PhD Monash on Poulenc’s mélodies which remains the only detailed study of the composer’s songs.

She is presently a private music teacher and an Honorary Research Associate at Monash University.
