Dr Gay Breyley

Biography

Gay Breyley is an ethnomusicologist and cultural historian. Her current research focuses on musical cultures in Iran and among Persian-speakers in Australia. She was a Faculty of Arts postdoctoral fellow in the School of Music-Conservatorium from 2006 to 2008. Gay's doctoral research included fieldwork with Indigenous communities in eastern Australia. Her recent publications include articles in Antipodes, New Formations, Ethnomusicology Forum and The Journal of Australian Studies.
