Undergraduate Audition Application Process 2009
Auditions for entry into Semester one 2009 will be available as of Open Day Sunday 3 August 2008.
Auditions will be held between Monday 17th November, 2008 and Wednesday 17th December, 2008.
Performance

Offshore International - More information available
All applicants should prepare two short contrasting (eg. style, period, composer) works (no longer than 15 minutes altogether). Technical work and/or sight reading may also be requested at the audition.
Classical
The audition will comprise selections from the
applicant's audition material and a brief interview. The school
can provide a list of professional accompanists if needed.
Jazz & Popular Studies
The audition process will comprise selections from the applicant's
audition material, improvising over a chord progression which will
be supplied in the audition, ear training test, scales and sight
reading. All applicants are expected to perform with live backing.
Performing solely with CD
and tapes are not accepted as backing tracks. No accompanist will
be provided. (A combination of CD
and live backing is allowed. Eg. 1 piece with CD and the second with a pianist is okay)

The Vice-Chancellor's Concertmaster/Orchestra Leader Scholarship
This prestigious scholarship, which has been awarded since 1992, is provided by the Vice-Chancellor to a outstanding violinist who is capable of providing strong leadership to the School of Music - Conservatorium Orchestra. The successful applicant will receive a stipend equivalent to his/her CSP (Commonwealth Supported Place) fee payable in 2008.
The Vice-Chancellor's Ensemble Leader Scholarship
The Vice-Chancellor's Music Leadership scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding musician who will have a leadership role in the School of Music-Conservatorium Ensemble Program. The successful applicant will receive a stipend equivalent to his/her CSP (Commonwealth Supported Place) fee payable in 2008.
Monash-Pratt Musician Performance Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded for outstanding applicants in various instrumental and vocal disciplines.
