Government and the Arts

The staff and honorary associates of the National Centre for Australian Studies serve on a host of state and national government committees and play a leading role in advocating the Arts in Australia. They have authored policy papers for government, judged prizes, fellowships, scholarships and awards and established strong links with the State Library of Victoria, the National Library and the National Archives.

Professor Bruce Scates, Director of the National Centre for Australian Studies, leads tours across the Anzac Battlefields on behalf of the State Government of Victoria. The Premier's Spirit of Anzac Tour offers teachers and students the opportunity to explore these historic sites and build friendships in another country.
