Standards for Contact Hours
Please note that this policy has not yet been revised or converted to the new format. This policy area is being re-formulated into the new Academic Policy Bank format.
Where the unit is delivered in flexible mode, contact hours may be grouped over one or more intense periods e.g. week or weekend, equivalent to those of normal on-campus based delivery. If units have significant components of group-based activity or alternative technologies compensate for a reduction in class time a case may be made for reducing the contact hours accordingly.
Minimum contact hours may be varied where a strong case can be made that alternative technologies compensate for a reduction in class time.
